Installation Instructions

Suzuki manufactures most fuel-injected motorcycles with a different ignition map for each gear.  In the lower gears, the ignition timing is retarded.  The JSD Pro sends a fixed signal to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) which eliminates the retardation and enables a more responsive throttle and faster acceleration in the lower gears.  The JSD Pro preserves the selected gear signal and the Gear Position Indicator (GPI) will display the current gear correctly.

Installation Steps (30-40minutes)

THE JSD PRO IS DESIGNED TO RUN ALONG THE BOTTOM OF THE LEFT FRAME RAIL WITH THE SHORT PORTION CONNECTED TO THE GPS AND
THE LONG PORTION CONNECTED TO THE FRONT HARNESS.
ALWAYS PULL THE JSD BY ITS CONNECTORS, NEVER ITS WIRES!

• 1. Locate the Gear Position Sensor (GPS) inside the left frame rail under the fuel tank.  Refer to Photo 1.
• 2. Identify the GPS connectors (white, three-pin, triangular connectors with black, blue and pink wires) and pull them apart.
• 3. Connect the JSD Pro male connector to the GPS female connector.  Connect the JSD Pro female connector to the GPS male connector.
• 4. Remove the left faring and locate the front harness connector below the ram air tube.   Refer to Photo 2.
• 5. Route the long portion of the JSD Pro underneath the left frame rail to the front harness connector.  Refer to Photo 2.
• 6. Pull the front harness connectors (white, 16-pin) apart.  Press down on tab to release connector.  Refer to Photo 3.
• 7. Find the orange/green wire and disconnect it from the front harness connector.  Refer to Photo 4.
• 8. Insert the orange/green wire into the left side of the JSD Pro two-pin, female connector.  Refer to Photo 5.
• 9. Insert the JSD Pro red wire to the front harness connector where the orange/green wire was.
• 10. Find the black/green wire and disconnect it from the front harness connector.
• 11.  Insert the black/green wire into the right side of the JSD Pro two-pin, female connector.
• 12. Insert the JSD Pro black wire to the front harness connector where the black/green wire was.
• 13. Connect the JSD Pro two-pin male and female connectors together.  Refer to Photo 6.
• 14. Connect the front harness connectors together.  Pull the water shield over front harness connector and the 2-pin JSD Pro connector.
• 15. Use the two tie-wraps included to affix the JSD Pro to the side of the front harness connector.
• 16. Re-install the left faring.
• 17. You will need to reset the time on the dash clock.
