After I got my Busa home and had ridden it for awhile, like most people, I wanted to install a new exhaust system. The problem that I ran into was that not many
manufacturers had released products for the Hayabusa. So, I elected to go with slip-ons. I selected 2-Bros because of the looks and quality.
The service that I received was also very good.
The install was quite easy - one wrench and about 1/2 hour was all it took. The bike ran great and sounded much better than stock - not very loud but with a great, low rumble.
I took my bike to the AMA races in Brainerd and ran it on the Factory Pro dyno for a little tune, many thanks to Marc Salvisberg. I wanted to make sure it was pumpin' out
*MAX* hp. After an hour on the dyno, I ended up with around 160 hp and shed around 8 lb. of dead weight from my stock setup.
I have since installed my Yosh titanium exhaust which weighs only 7 lb. I was sorry to
see the 2 -Bros carbon cans go but I got a helluva deal on the Yosh system. I am pleased with the overall fit of the Yosh pipe and the somewhat easy install once I removed what seemed to be half the
screws on my bike!
Well, I just could not leave it alone! Today I installed a hi-mount tail section on my
titanium pipe. This also included a new muffler mount that replaced my passenger foot peg. This new addition makes the bike look much cleaner.
With the installation of my Yosh system, I got these huge backfires with a flame out of the exhaust. . Although this looked way cool, the local law did not
appreciate it. To eliminate this problem, you can either remove the entire PAIR system (against the law in some places) or block off the
PAIR line from the airbox. I chose to block the line. In the picture at the left you can see the line. It's located on the right rear of the airbox. I
plugged it with a plastic cylinder and put a tie-wrap around it.
