Product Description: Suzuki manufactures motorcycles with a different ignition map for each gear. In the lower gears (one-four), the ignition timing is retarded. The JSD sends a fixed signal for fifth gear to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) which eliminates the ignition timing retard and enables a more responsive throttle and faster acceleration in the lower gears.

With the 2005 and later GSXR-1000, the Gear Position Indicator on the dash will display "5" for gears 1-6 when the JSD-3 is installed. When in neutral, "0" is displayed whether the JSD-3 is installed or not. |
